The Observatory for Sport in Scotland appoints Michael Ross as Chair

  • Uncategorized

FWB is proud to have partnered with the Observatory for Sport in Scotland (the OSS) to appoint Michael Ross as Chair of the Board of Trustees. The OSS’s purpose is to be an independent voice and advocate for community sport. Its aim is to build evidence and analysis to promote increased participation and to challenge policy makers on the documented decline in participation, especially among the less well-off communities in Scotland. Michael succeeds Goeff Aberdein who will remain on the Board as a committed Trustee.

As well as his deep passion for the transformative power of community sport, Mike brings prior experience as a Trustee of World Extreme Medicine Fund and a professional background as a General Counsel, including of NatWest plc.

Commenting on the appointment, Kirsten Hendry, Associate Director at FWB said: “We were very pleased to advise on what is a very important appointment at an important time in the continued evolution of the OSS and we wish Michael and the rest of the Board of Trustees every success in the future.”
