  • Hugh Aitken is the new Director of CBI Scotland and has taken over from Iain McMillan.  A former Chairman of Electronics Scotland he built his impressive executive career with Sun Microsystems, Microsoft and HP, both in the UK and US#
  • Mark Cubitt is the new CFO of Denhom Oilfield Services and joins from the same position at Wolfson Microelectronics plc.  We are also pleased to announce that Fiona MacLeod and Mike Straughen have both joined as Non Executive Directors after very successful careers with BP and Wood Group respectively
  • Roy Buchan is the new Chief Operations Officer of Ithaca Energy Inc.  He was previously Group Head of Operations for BG Group plc and, most recently, Technical & Production Director of Talisman Sinopec Energy UK Limited
  • Essential Edinburgh, Edinburgh’s Business Improvement District (BID) has appointed Roddy Smith as Chief Executive.  He joins from Cricket Scotland where he was also CEO
  • Loch Fyne Oysters, one of the UK’s largest oyster farms and exporter around the world has appointed Cameron Brown as Managing Director.  He was previously MD of VMG Foods and Adelie Food Holdings
  • David Camp has been appointed President, Americas with EV Cam, the PE-backed downhole video experts, based in Houston, Texas.  David was most recently the Executive Vice President of Coiled Tubing Products with Axon Energy Products
  • Gary Cresswell has been appointed as a Non Executive Director of ADTI following its acquisition out of Transocean last year by Sun European Partners.  Gary previously spent a number of years with Baker Hughes latterly as Vice President for Global Marketing based in Houston, Texas
  • Optos plc, the leading retinal imaging company has appointed Mike Archenhold as VP Supply Chain.  He joins from Plexus Corporation where he was EMEA Sourcing Director
  • In a number of other CFO appointments, David McIntyre has joined Cyberhawk, a leader in ariel inspection and surveying using remotely operated aerial vehicles (ROAVs) and Brian Smith has joined Cambridge-based Aveillant, the surveillance technology specialists.  Andrew Sweeney is now CFO of Gloucester based Advanced Insulation, who specialise in thermal insulation systems and fire protection.  All three companies are PE–backed
  • Sharon Shields has joined Weir Engineering Services, part of the Weir Group PLC, as Operations Director.  She was previously consulting in Houston and was a Director of Comtech Aviation Services  in Australia
  • Argent Energy, the country’s foremost biodiesel producer, has appointed Stuart Miller as its Chief Engineer.  He was previously with Tullis Russell and Devro plc
  • In a number of HR appointments, Julian Bell, has joined Redeem as Interim HR Consultant from Muller Wiseman, Joanne Hughes has joined The Edrington Group as Head of Organisational Development from Barclays Wealth and Paul Cowan is now Head of Talent and Development – UK, Europe, SCC at  Standard Life.  He was previously the European leader, Learning and Talent Management at Amazon.  Julie Cooper has joined Clydesdale Bank as HR Interim from RSTO where she was Head of People & Development and Bridget Cameron has joined Edinburgh Napier University as HR Consultant.
  • The James Hutton Institute is an international research centre based in Scotland and tackles some of the worlds most challenging problems including the impact of climate change and threats to food and water security.  It has appointed four eminent Non Executive Directors: Joan MacNaughton, Executive Chair of the World Energy Council Trilemma; Stephen Hall, Director General of Worldfish in Malaysia; Deborah Keith, Head of Global R&D at Syngenta and Marion Scott, Professor of Environmental Statistics at the University of Glasgow
  • Shelly Brown has joined Johnston Matthey to head up its new Battery Material Product Development Centre being created in Singapore. Shelley will assume the role of Technical and Business Development Director and will relocate to Singapore from Sydney, Australia where she was Manager of Technology & Innovation with AGL
  • Don Lewis has been appointed HSE Director for the Middle East and Africa with ASCO, based in their Dubai office.  Don joins following a long career initially in the military and subsequently the mining sector
  • MacDuff Shellfish is a PE-backed business which processes more wild shellfish than anyone else in Europe.  Malcolm Murray is the new MD – Fleet Operations and joins from Muller-Wiseman Dairies
  • Brian Agnew has joined MH Wirth (Division of Aker) as Vice President Manufacturing in Kuala Lumpur.  Brian was previously Plant Manager for GE Oil & Gas in Aberdeen
  • After a very successful Healthcare career, Ann Porter is the new Chief Executive for the Fife Society for the Blind, which offers specialised services to help visually impaired people achieve and maintain their independence
  • Lyndsey Orrock has joined Swire Oilfield Services as Group Tax Manager from Reef Subsea
  • Mount Stuart Trust on the Isle of Bute has appointed Adam Ellis-Jones as Chief Executive.  Adam was previously with the National Trust in Wales where he had responsibility for overall operational management and leadership of the Built Property Portfolio across Wales
