Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager

Established in 1999 by Alan James, AJ Engineering & Construction Services is a growing, dynamic and innovative fabrication, engineering, and construction services company, dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions to its clients.

The business provides a wide spectrum of engineering services ranging from steel fabrication and CNC machining to cladding and civil engineering, with a highly experienced team servicing clients within sectors such as rail, renewables, nuclear, water, construction, marine and many more, from its base in Forres, Moray.

AJ Engineering is in an exciting phase in its growth and expansion and as such is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager to join and lead key activity with regards to Manufacturing, Project Support and Drawing Office activity.

This is a newly created role and the individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of projects from inception to completion of work prior to site installation. This individual will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that drive productivity, profitability, and overall business growth.

In particular they will;

• Oversee and direct daily workshop operations including production and manufacturing, maintenance, safety, regulatory compliance and distribution.
• Assume responsibility for ensuring that all works from contract award to fabricated, coated (shotblasted, painted or galvanized) product are ready to be shipped on time, to budget and to the required quality standards. This includes the CNC workshop.
• Manage the procurement of materials necessary for manufacture.
• Assume responsibility for ensuring activities within the workshop are carried out safely.
• Manage the recruitment and development of workshop personnel.
• Maintain quality documentation related to all manufacturing process.
