The opportunity

 The business is now seeking to appoint a highly experienced Senior HR leader to join our dynamic team in Glenrothes, Scotland. This is a critical leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape and drive HR strategies that align with both our European operations and global business objectives. 

 The Senior Manager, Human Resources will play a key role in leading and managing the HR function across our European operations. Reporting to the senior leadership team, this role will be responsible for driving HR initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, support talent management, and foster a productive and compliant work environment.

As part of a global leader in network solutions, the Senior Manager, Human Resources will play a crucial role in ensuring that Leviton continues to attract, retain, and develop top talent, while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and organizational effectiveness. 

Key Responsibilities will include; 

  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, high ethical standards, and compliance. 
  • HR Strategy and Policy Implementation: Develop and implement HR policies and programs that meet corporate directives, UK legislation, and best practices. This includes overseeing performance management systems, recruitment and retention strategies, and compensation and benefits programs.
  • Talent Management and Leadership Development: Collaborate with managers to assess employee training and development needs. Design and deliver programs that support personal development plans and leadership growth, ensuring that the organization attracts and retains top talent within budget constraints. 
  • Employee Relations and Compliance: Provide guidance on employee relations issues, including coaching, mediation, engagement, disciplinary management, and conflict resolution. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and corporate policies, including GDPR, Modern Slavery, and Gender Pay Gap regulations.
  • Compensation and Benefits Management: Oversee compensation and benefits programs for all employees in the NS Europe region. Ensure consistency and compliance across locations, provide benchmarking data, and maintain financial accountability for HR programs. 
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Corporate HR and the local leadership team in Glenrothes to establish consistent HR practices across the organization. Participate in the site leadership team, contributing to the overall business strategy and facilitating the Compliance committee to ensure legal and ethical obligations are met. 
  • Occupational Health and Safety: Manage Occupational Health activities, providing guidance on legal requirements, measuring performance, and advising managers on necessary actions and outcomes. 

Candidate requirements

 We are seeking to appoint someone who has significant experience in a senior HR position (perhaps in a site or divisional role) within a manufacturing or engineering environment of relevance. 

 They will have an engaging and collaborative manner and possess most of the following; 

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field OR formal CIPD level qualifications. 
  • Extensive experience in HR leadership, particularly in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to work effectively within an international, matrixed organization. 
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law; familiarity with European employment law is an advantage. 
  • Proven experience in talent management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits programs.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Teams, and HRIS systems like Mitrefinch. 
  • Ability to travel regularly (approximately 10%) as required.
