Interim Deputy Global People Director

About the role

Our client is a leading Global asset business and experience in asset management or wealth is required. This is a 10 month contract.

Responsible for the deputy leadership of the HR function, ensuring the department is effective and delivers a high quality service to the business. Day to day management of the senior HR team. Closely works with the  HR senior leadership team, providing leadership and executing the global HR strategy in support of the organisations strategy and business plan. Acts as an alternate to the Chief People Officer where required on committees and internal/external meetings.

Job Description

Advice

Works closely with senior management to anticipate organisational issues, provide advice, and  implement solutions to attract, motivate, develop and retain talented and engaged employees.

Input into new HR policies and processes to support the effective running of the business where required.

Have in-depth knowledge of UK, EU, US and Asia Pac employment law and market practise with ability to provide guidance and advice on complex ER case management, settlement agreements, court and tribunal cases.

Provide a lead role/advice during any corporate transactions including any requirements for due diligence, outsourcing, collective/employee consultation, TUPE or any regional equivalent.

Budget

Act as lead contact point for annual Finance budgeting process, liaising with business leads and functional heads where required and manage  organisations annual HR budget.

Approval of all roles, both temporary and permanent on a global basis.

Strategy

Assist with advancing the company’s diversity targets with defined strategies to embed diversity into hiring, training, development and retention.

Foster a culture of engagement that values diversity globally and demonstrates fair and consistent management practices.

Ability to effectively partner and influence at all levels and across global teams and build relevant strategic relationships.

Talent Management

Oversee the implementation of effective succession planning and talent management programs including leadership development, ensuring any talent programmes are appropriate for the business and provide demonstrable ROI, for both employees and management.

Performance management

Ensure the company’s performance management system and appraisal tools accurately capture the performance of individuals and teams and that development and training is appropriately integrated into the performance management process.

Reward

Working with the relevant teams, ensure the effective development and deployment of reward initiatives including annual compensation review, variable pay and incentive programmes and ad-hoc compensation issues, taking into account local regulatory law and market practise.

In depth knowledge of remuneration regulations and complex compensation schemes.

Approval of all salary increases globally, including relocation packages.

Ability to prepare, edit and submit remuneration and nomination  committee papers and to liaise directly with the committees where required.

HR Information Systems

Ensure the viability and effectiveness of the global HR technology systems, process and infrastructure.

Skills required

Strong leadership skills – the ability to lead through influence rather than control, and create consensus-based support.

Strong interpersonal, consultative, communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact credibly and confidently with all levels in the organisation, including the board/CEO level.

Robust analytical skills with strong data analysis abilities, and the ability to assess situations using both qualitative and quantitative factors.

Experience of managing a multi-cultural and multi-site team in an international environment.

Ability to think strategically, make decisions and develop and implement new initiatives while remaining solutions focussed with a strong commercial orientation.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced and challenging environment.
