The Opportunity

The company now wishes to add to the existing strength of the leadership team with the appointment of a Head of Estates & Facilities. This person will be required to lead and develop the team tasked with managing and optimising the property portfolio (owned and leased) plus facilities management operations across the estate, based largely in the UK with one property in the US.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Implementing the Group property strategy in alignment with business goals.
• Manage the property portfolio to ensure provision of high-quality accommodation, including the acquisition, disposal and leasing of properties to optimise performance.
• Oversee day-to-day property management operations, including facilities maintenance, tenant management and lease administration.
• Financial management of budgets, property performance analysis, return on investment and capital expenditure projects.
• Lead on property-related compliance and sustainability initiatives, to help reduce the environmental impact of DC Thomson operations.

The Head of Estates & Facilities will be an experienced property and facilities management professional with a proven track record in managing large and diverse property portfolios including acquisition, development and disposal.

The successful candidate will have plenty of scope to bring their experience and ideas to improve the way the portfolio is managed, to build on existing governance and working practices to drive greater efficiencies across the estate.
