About the role

Campbells Prime Meat Ltd is Scotland’s leading supplier of fresh meat, fresh fish and delicatessen to foodservice customers with 320 employees and annual sales mainly into foodservice of £55 million.

The business also has a B2C website selling fresh Scotch meat and fish, primarily to UK customers with production onsite and delivery by courier.

The website has seen significant growth since the start of the coronavirus crisis. Following recent investments in manufacturing and customer service capacity, the business is seeking further rapid growth of this business unit and is seeking to recruit a talented Head of Ecommerce to lead this.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will define the Company’s online communications and website branding and build the Company’s brand for the B2C market. They will also work closely with the customer service, production and technical teams to ensure that the business is structured to support rapid and sustainable growth, targeting three times its current run rate within 18 months.

We are seeking commercially minded, data-driven and experienced ecommerce specialists who have experience within a fast paced, entrepreneurial high growth business. Candidates will have a strong understanding of marketing and brand positioning and be able to demonstrate knowledge of website marketing and maintenance, ideally within the food or FMCG sectors, although we are able to consider candidates from adjacent markets who have relevant skills and experience.

Campbells Prime Meat has a flat management structure and is an entrepreneurial not a corporate environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable with significant responsibility for their and their team’s own task setting and performance and carrying out the agreed tasks themselves. Objectives are discussed regularly and decisions made more quickly than in a corporate environment.
