The Opportunity & Candidate Requirements
To replace the outgoing Director of Finance of more than 10 years, the business is seeking to appoint a new Group Finance Director to the Board and support the organisation in delivering on future growth plans.
In recent years, the business has grown significantly, organically in some business units, and through a mixture of acquisition and strategic partnerships. With annualised revenues approaching £90 million, ongoing organic growth with existing customers and a strong new business pipeline, the Group Finance Director will be instrumental in prioritising which projects to progress. The ability to critique Capex Proposals and then ensuring that financial support is available or put-in-place, in addition to the subsequent monitoring / validation required to ensure successful delivery, is a pre-requisite.
The new Group Finance Director will play a key strategic role in the delivery of key capital projects on behalf of the business, as well as contribute to future M&A activity, business case creation and appraisal for new commercial opportunities and importantly, the development of people and robust financial controls to further build on the strong foundations in place across the Group.
As part of the Executive Management team, you will also support the business in the development of Group strategy, budget, funding and capital expenditure plans, managing remuneration and pension plans as well as administration of the Groups property portfolio.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Executive to join a growing and well-respected and established business with strong values at a critical point in its history and assume broad responsibility for financial operations and development.
As such we are keen to speak to individuals who possess most of the following;
- Experience of operating in a senior / Executive level finance leadership position with an organisation of comparable scale and complexity to Russell Group. Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous to have experience in a comparable industry
- A track record of people development and implementation of strong financial control environments in a privately owned business (preferably)
- It is not essential that you have operated in a family run business, but you will possess the right blend of humility, resilience and empathy to operate in a values driven organisation like Russell Group
- It is essential that you possess a relevant accountancy qualification i.e. CA, CIMA, ACA
