Group Finance & Commercial Director

Anglia Maltings is a privately owned company of great history and heritage. It comprises three divisions: a malting division: Crisp Malt, and two food ingredient divisions: Edme and Micronized Food Products.

The Group works with a diverse range of partners from innovative craft brewers in the UK, Europe, North America and Japan to Global food and drink companies. The Group operates out of five office locations – Norfolk (HQ), Essex, North Yorkshire, Hamburg, and Bydgoszcz in Poland, it employs 370 colleagues and in 2019 turnover was £194m, with net assets of £94m and EBITDA of £18m.

On the forthcoming retirement of the incumbent, the opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Financial & Commercial Director to join the Board. Based in beautiful Norfolk, they will lead the finance function in line with the overall strategy of the business. Consequently, this is as much a commercial and strategic role as it is a financial and technical one; and therefore requires a dynamic individual who can support the business and add value across it. Indeed the role will also have Group responsibility for Procurement, IT and HR. Candidates will have the gravitas, the strength of character and the robustness as well the emotional intelligence to quickly get to grips with the Group’s strong financial history, operating heritage and of course its long term private ownership.

Candidates will therefore most certainly have a strong personal presence and leadership style combined with a confident, entrepreneurial and hardworking approach. All will be critical to success in this role. They must also be technically capable, commercially aware and possess the ability to inspire and influence people at all levels.
