General Manager – Bakery Business

Our client is one of the leading holding companies in the UAE with businesses across a broad spectrum of industries. With a workforce of over 15,000 employees across the Middle East, it is relentlessly striving to continue strengthening and diversifying its portfolio, to further drive shareholder value creation and promote economic growth. It has recently acquired a bakery business which has several outlets in the UAE, around 150 employees and over 20 million AED in revenues. It is currently establishing a factory to centralise its operations and the plan going forward is to develop wholesale operations and become a major supplier of baked goods to key target organisations in the region.

Our client has identified the need to appoint a General Manager to grow this bakery business further and take it from retail to wholesale. In addition to running and managing efficiently the day-to-day operations of the subsidiary to fulfil its needs and realise its plans, the appointee will be responsible for improving and developing its performance. Candidates for this position must fully understand the operations and the production process of the bakery business in addition to having strong and solid financial and business acumen. Excellent command in both English & Arabic is essential. This role will report to the Managing Director of the holding company and will be based in Abu Dhabi.
