Financial Controller
About the role
The NWH Group, a family owned waste management company has grown and diversified to provide a range of services across Land and Waste Services. This entails the collection, processing and production of resources as well as other ancillary services.
Following the on-going growth of the company, with turnover now approaching c£40m, the Finance Director is now looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to lead the core finance team responsible for all reporting and transactional finance for the Group.
This individual, and their team, will be responsible for all core finance activity, including but not limited to Financial and Management Accounting (including group consolidation), Accounts Payable and Receivable, Banking, compliance and financial systems and process improvements.
This is a crucial appointment to bolster the strength of the finance leadership team and alongside the delivery of robust and accurate financial reporting, provide high quality commercial and financial insight that helps enable great decision making and the on-going growth of the business.
Job Purpose:
The role will be filled by a qualified accountant, with a high level of expertise in Financial Accounting and Purchase to Pay processes and the associated controls. In addition, they will exhibit strong team management, motivation and organisational skills and have experience of operating in a compliance-robust environment.
They will assist with the implementation of a new finance system and operate within the framework of the Group accounting policies, procedures and internal controls of the core finance functions to ensure that financial and purchasing transactions are processed in an efficient, accurate and timely fashion. A scalable function will be developed suitable for further organic and acquisitive growth.
Reporting to the Finance Director, their responsibilities will be to lead the core finance team. Responsible for the production of the management accounts for all the Group entities (including consolidation), the effective running of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking and they will ensure all commercial reporting, analysis and other deliverables are completed as part of a regular monthly cycle for companies within the wider NWH Group.
