The Finance Director will have overall financial responsibility for the Group and will have a significant Board voice on broader commercial matters. However there needs to be an initial focus on making sure the business continues to have the right systems and processes to give it as strong a platform as possible for continued growth. The FD therefore needs to be both hands-on AND strategic within the business – and it is the balance of focus and experience that we seek. The key personal attributes required will be a focus and attention to detail; commercial judgement; communication; a collaborative team building style and strong energy and drive. Naturally candidates will also be qualified accountants with excellent financial acumen, relevant experience and the gravitas and emotional intelligence to work both at Broad level with Shareholders and Non Executives and within the business at an operational level.
