Finance Director
About the role
Nairn’s Oatcakes, based on Peffermill Road, Edinburgh have grown and diversified significantly since their MBO from United Biscuits plc in 1996. Annual sales are expected to exceed £26m with much of this growth attributed to the success of the gluten free range of oat based products. The company is investing heavily in a new production facility dedicated entirely to gluten free. This marks an extremely exciting phase in the company’s history.
Nairn’s Oatcakes are looking to appoint an outstanding Finance Director to support the Managing Director, Martyn Gray, and the senior management team to add value across a broad range of areas and play a key role in shaping the next chapter of the Nairn’s Oatcakes success story.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate instinct, commerciality and inherent values that are aligned with the business. They must bring technical excellence and leadership to the Finance function and will be required to successfully execute strategic and operational initiatives.
A professional Finance qualification and strong track record of leading the Finance function within a manufacturing business is essential. A knowledge of the FMCG industry or branded goods environment, in particular Supply Chain and trading in export markets, is strongly preferred. As is evidence of the successful selection and implementation of IT systems, exceptional communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
The Finance Director must be highly motivated, visible and hands-on within the business and should live within a sensible commuting distance of Edinburgh or be prepared to relocate for this role.
