European Head of Business Performance

Baxters Food Group is a family-owned global business, established in Scotland over 150 years ago and best known for its premium food brands. For four generations the Baxters family has experienced dynamic change by launching into new market sectors through acquisitions and new products.

Strategic changes to the European Leadership Team and further plans for growth have created the opportunity to appoint a technically and commercially excellent European Head of Business Performance, who will report to the European Finance Director. The European Division is a multi-site business, with a presence in Fochabers, Edinburgh, Burntwood, Colchester and Poland. Candidates for this role can be based anywhere within the UK.

With a clear strategy for growth, the European Head of Business Performance role is key in providing strong leadership of and direction to the European Finance Business Partnering Team. Supplying timely, accurate and insightful management information to the European business to deliver forecasts, budgets, actuals and strategic plans, from a detailed P&L and Capex perspective. This role will partner with the Commercial, Operations and Overhead teams, helping to drive the profitability of the European business and supporting its strategy of leading on product.

Key responsibilities include:

• Business Partnering to advise on the profitability of new and existing business opportunities, efficiency improvement across all sites and providing an intelligent overhead support base.
• Leadership and development of the European Business Partnering Finance Team, ensuring opportunities for succession.
• Working closely with the New Product Innovation team to successfully launch new products into the market.
• Taking the lead on European Finance projects including management information systems, potential M&A opportunities and long-range planning.

We are looking to appoint a highly commercial and analytical Finance Business Partner with excellent leadership, communication skills and high levels of emotional intelligence. The European Head of Business Performance will be a qualified accountant with approximately 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a multi-site, branded food manufacturing business or similar commercial environment.
