Scotland Food & Drink

Scotland Food & Drink exists to nurture, support and champion the people and products of Scotland’s food and drink industry to help deliver continued and growing success and enhance Scotland’s global reputation.  This is performed in two ways: first, we are a membership organisation with hundreds of Scottish businesses to engage with and encourage; and second, we lead the Scotland Food & Drink Partnership, a unique and vitally important collaborative alliance of key industry organisations and public sector agencies. As part of this collaboration, Scotland Food & Drink is the lead industry organisation in the delivery of the National Strategy: Sustaining Scotland. Supplying the World.

Role summary

As Chair, you will lead the Board, ensuring its efficient operation, and will work closely with The Partnership to influence the strategic development of the food and drink industry; an industry seeking to significantly grow its sales both at home and in overseas markets.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and confident Chair with a broad understanding and passion for the Food and Drink industry.  This role is for a 3-year term.  You will have ambitious aspirations for the industry and a desire to drive innovative ways of working between the industry and public sector in Scotland.

Additionally, you will:

  • challenge constructively and respectfully and contribute to high quality discussion, decision-making and priority setting within a Board/team environment.
  • communicate clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders and uphold the reputation of the organisation.

Time commitment

  • The Board meets at least four times per year, with committee meetings in between
  • The Chair will also be expected to attend and speak at key events during the year
