City Centre Director

The Aberdeen City Centre Masterplan, after extensive public and stakeholder engagement, has been unanimously approved by Aberdeen City Council. The Masterplan will kick-start an ambitious and exciting 25 year regeneration programme for the city. Key projects will include major infrastructure proposals, environmental developments, key economic outputs and community based initiatives. The City Region Deal bid is a central part of the region’s desire to strengthen and anchor its economic base. There are critical interdependencies between this programme and the Masterplan as we seek to increase the number of jobs and homes within the City Centre footprint.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this key role will have responsibility for ensuring the delivery of the City Centre Masterplan. The City Centre Director will provide leadership on all aspects of the programme, directly managing a small core team whilst working in partnership with a wide range of local and national partners and stakeholders to ensure each aspect of the Masterplan is being successfully managed.

Diplomatic, determined and results oriented, you will relish this highly visible role, building on what we’ve achieved so far by delivering the best for the people of Aberdeen. Ideally you will have significant experience in the delivery of complex city orientated regeneration projects or closely related experience and have energy and vision to deliver a major step change for the City of Aberdeen.
