Segment Financial Controller

Barnes Aerospace is an international group providing complex engineering solutions to some of the key names in the Aerospace, Industrial and Defence markets. Operating from sites close to key customers in North America, Europe and Asia, the Barnes Aerospace group provides advanced technological solutions, leveraging an in-depth knowledge of fabrications, machining and the global supply chain to support complex aero-engine and aero-engine gas turbine derivatives, component manufacture and repair.

Barnes Aerospace seeks a technically excellent and high energy individual to serve as Financial Controller for the growing Barnes Aerospace business. This will be a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate who will contribute as a key member of the Barnes Aerospace Finance leadership team, adding input to business decisions and driving business results.
This finance leader provides strategic and tactical support within the Accounting & Financial Reporting Systems while monitoring compliance within the global accounting & control structure to ensuring accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of Barnes financial reporting at all times.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Design effective business unit accounting procedures and standard work instructions including testing for operational effectiveness.
• Implement improvements in accounting and financial reporting procedures to drive consistency and efficiency across the different businesses within Barnes Aerospace.
• Analyse data for deficiencies in processes, controls, government regulations, management policies or procedures.
• Support Finance Directors with business analysis, providing data and support for financial review and commentary.
• Lead financial and accounting review processes, including quarterly financial statement and controls reviews with business leaders.
• Provides financial and accounting guidance/support to the business and finance leaders to help drive business processes and results.
• Oversight of all Aerospace HQ accounting, annual audit process, statutory reporting, tax and treasury.

We are looking to appoint an extremely strong Financial Accountant into this role, with a successful track record of accounting and financial control in a mid to large size manufacturing or engineering environment. Candidates should display high levels of emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills and the full spectrum of finance experience, including accounting, compliance and analysis.
