Finance Director

WFS Technologies is an extremely exciting, well funded  business with distinct early mover advantage in the field of Subsea Internet of Things, Subsea Cloud Computing and Big Data. This technology has the potential to fundamentally change asset integrity monitoring and the use of data to improve predictive modelling across several sectors. These sectors include Oil & Gas, Defence, Renewable Energy and Aquaculture.

WFS technologies are considered the thought leaders in the field of sub-sea technology and connectivity. Significant investment in the business, coupled with the need for increased breadth and depth of management information, analysis and reporting, has created the opportunity for an outstanding Finance Director to join the business. He or she will be instrumental in bringing a positive and creative approach to how finance can support the business in achieving its potential. The Finance Director will have a broad, operational remit and will report to the CEO, based in Livingston/Edinburgh.

Purpose of the role:

• To ensure the effective financial management and reporting for WFS Technologies and actively contribute to the financial planning and strategic growth of the organisation as a key member of the Senior Management Team.
• To lead and oversee the day to day activities of the finance team and ensure the company’s finance function is organised, efficient, producing accurate and timely financial and management information, as well as compliance with all relevant financial reporting and tax legislation.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures in accordance with statutory regulation and generally accepted accountancy practice, in order to safeguard the assets and financial interests of the company.
• Help facilitate the enhancement of value in all areas of the business by managing and optimising operational and commercial activities, and implementing effective and robust financial strategies.

This role will suit an ambitious individual, attracted to the demands of a dynamic, high growth technology business. Commerciality, experience of scaling up a business and identifying new opportunities and revenue streams will be a distinct advantage. Inherently, the Finance Director should be passionate about the disruptive qualities of technology and display the initiative to always look for a better way of doing things.
