Head of Operations
About the role
North Berwick
Leuchie House is looking to appoint a new Head of Operations to take on the management & development responsibility for the operational departments of Leuchie House; building agile strategies to continually improve & evolve Leuchie’s service offering to guests and to their overall customer experience. Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Operations will be a natural ambassador for Leuchie house and a key member of the Senior Management Team, integral in providing long term strategic direction for the charity.
The new Head of Operations will be an experienced commercially aware leader from the care industry, either as a senior RN/RMN in the NHS and/or senior operational manager in a private care facility. They will be an engaging role model with a strong resilient character; but also be a good people person who can understand the differing needs of each Leuchie House guest and who will ensure that they individually receive both excellent care and service from all staff. They also need to quickly grasp the Five-Star ethos of Leuchie and be a powerful advocate for that.
Leuchie House itself is an 18th century classical mansion house set in the rolling East Lothian countryside near the coastal town of North Berwick, owned by the Dalrymple family. The house was leased out as a respite holiday home for people with Multiple Sclerosis from 1970 – 2010, originally run by servite nuns and latterly by the MS Society. Leuchie House was reopened in 2011 as an independent charity and now welcomes guests with a variety of neurological conditions in addition to Multiple Sclerosis, such as: Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy and Huntington’s.
