About the role
Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home has been part of the fabric of our city since 1883, working in partnership with local authorities and police services by welcoming lost, stray and abandoned pets from all corners of Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Being one of Scotland’s oldest and most loved animal welfare organisations, there is a team of dedicated staff, volunteers, Trustees and supporters, who work tirelessly to help undertake the Home’s mission to rescue, reunite and rehome dogs and cats in need.
We are looking for a Head of Finance and Business Development who will be responsible for the strategic financial and business management reporting of the Home, leading on both the financial governance and business development functions for the organisation in support of the Chief Executive.
Being a critical member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO on all matters relating to strategic financial and business management. The Head of Finance and Business Development will lead on all aspects relating to financial systems, processes, reporting on financial performance, business support and business development functions. This includes all aspects of charity finance compliance, business income generation and strategic facilities management.
We are looking for a positive influential leader who will be responsible for managing the Finance Business Partner and Business Facilities Manager, supporting the organisation in its income growth development plans while providing sound strategic financial support to the wider Senior Leadership Teams portfolio of work.
The successful individual will be able to represent the Home in all that they do as an enthusiastic and future thinking person with a strong can-do approach. Someone who can demonstrate innovative thinking and working collaboratively will suit the wider culture of the Home.
