Finance Director

Our client is a leading Sports Fashion brand that has grown strongly YOY since its foundation only a few years ago and which is now showing substantial and sustained international growth. The independent and privately owned business sells via multiple channels including online through its own website, and partnerships with both major retailers and independent stores. The company benefits from a global partnership with JD Sports which continues to provide significant international growth opportunities. The brand is a leading disruptor in online marketing and partners with some of the world’s most influential ambassadors.

Culturally the business is highly entrepreneurial and fast-moving. Due to the continuing strategic growth, all elements of the business are  being scaled and enhanced and there is no doubt that this role requires a flexible and adaptable Finance leader who can contribute to the development of the culture of the business, as well as its systems and processes.

As part of their long term strategic plan, the  Board now intends to recruit the company’s first Finance Director who will develop the existing Finance function and support the further rapid growth of the business. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in industry who is able to support the MD and the leadership team both operationally and strategically. Supported by the existing finance team, they will quickly get a good handle on the numbers and provide the controls and processes required to enable the sustainable day to day operation and growth of the business. Beyond being responsible for the financial aspects of the business, the new Finance Director will be able to provide deep analysis and insight, interpreting the numbers in a user-friendly way and helping the management team make well-informed decisions. They will provide smart insight into key performance metrics and play an active role on the Board, helping to drive the business with a data-driven approach.
