Based in Ayr, Alex Begg has a 150-year heritage as a manufacturer of quality products and fourteen months ago the portfolio was expanded with the acquisition of Scott & Charters, based in the Scottish Borders.  The addition of knitwear to the business has allowed for the expansion of consumer proposition for Begg x Co as well as continuing to service the needs of private customers.

Alex Begg, Begg x Co and Scott & Charters are trading names of Moorbrook Textiles Ltd which employees 180 people. The business, owned by Lindéngruppen in Sweden, has continued making investment during the pandemic with a focus on longer term results.   This role is for the Finance Director of Moorbrook Textiles Ltd.

We are excited to bring to the market our vacancy for a Finance Director who will sit alongside the CEO on the Board.  This is an opportunity for a dynamic, commercially minded individual ready to contribute to the next phase of creating sustainable profitable growth.  The Finance Director is a key Leadership role, partnering with the wider Leadership Team in both strategic and operational areas, positively challenging and supporting the business to deliver upon its growth ambitions and goals.

As we embark upon the implementation of a new ERP and Financial Reporting system, we are looking for someone who is naturally curious with a passion to drive improvements and desire to learn.  The Finance Director will have a natural ability to bring teams together to drive collaboration and success.

The Financial Director, who reports to the CEO, will be supported by the Finance team of five and IT team of two.

This is a key role in the Executive Leadership Team and represents an opportunity to join an iconic Scottish company with proud provenance  and positively impact its global performance.
