Newlands Junior College hosts ‘A Night at the College’

Last night (Mon, 20 Feb’17) Newlands Junior College hosted around 50 business leaders and many of the students and staff participated in what was a lively and interactive evening.

Newlands Junior College exists to provide opportunities for young people, aged 14-16 who have potential, but are at risk of disengaging from education.  The results are truly remarkable in academic studies, personal development and achieving positive outcomes.

Scott Black, one of the Trustees commented “As the effectiveness of Newlands Junior College continues to be proven the case for more public funding will hopefully become difficult to resist as at a very basic level it costs considerably more if we allow these young people to fall out of the education system.  What is being achieved is truly uplifting.  There are opportunities for businesses and individuals to support the College and also a variety of ways in which they can contribute towards its funding“.
